The Aurora Foundation of Southern Arizona Seeks Editor for Online Publication!

Since June, I've mentioned now and again that I picked up another freelance gig, but haven't said too much about it. I've been very lucky woman to have the opportunity to work for Stephanie Parker, President of The Aurora Foundation of Southern Arizona on a wonderfully exciting and important project. In the last four months or so, I've developed a model for 10 Best Ideas for Disability Justice, an online publication dedicated to facilitating access, inclusion and equity for people with disabilities. And today, it enters the next stage:

The Aurora Foundation of Southern Arizona is proud to announce the imminent launch of its new online journal 10 Best Ideas for Disability Justice. We have spent the last five months developing the model and now we need an Editor to guide the implementation. Are you the right person?

  3. Providing direction and assistance to the Editorial Board
  4. Liaising with The Aurora Foundation of Southern Arizona and independent contractors hired for particular tasks
  5. Developing and implementing outreach plan
  6. Developing and implementing communication strategy
  7. Producing monthly newsletter
  8. Evaluating publication process

  10. Managing social media
Qualifications
The successful applicant for position of Editor will possess a long-term commitment to and experience in the social and disability justice fields. A demonstrated ability to think creatively and critically, as well as a commitment to disability justice is required. They should excel at managing a complex variety of tasks and providing leadership and direction to a variety of individuals in different roles. Fluency in English is essential, as is a demonstrated ease with Word and Excel and online tools, such as blogging platforms, Google Docs and social media.
